Katie Dunphy

Katie Dunphy is a native of Long Island, New York who has been dancing since the age of two. She trained at TJE Dance Force throughout her whole adolescence where she learned to be proficient in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, musical theatre and hip hop. In 2000, Katie received the “Future Star Award” and was featured in “Dance Spirit Magazine” During her college years Katie continued expanding her career while training and performing in NYC under New York Knicks, Brian Friedman, Tyce Diorio, Laurieann Gibson and so many more! Katie has worked in regional theatre choreographing many shows on Long Island and NYC such as 42nd Street, Footloose, Godspell, Little Shop of Horrors, Grease, Rocky Horror Picture Show and Chicago. In 2011, Katie became the proud owner of Precision Dance Center located on Long Island, NY. Katie’s mission is to inspire dancers through movement and find their own individual creativity to become a confident dancer and person. Katie’s students have trained under Radio City Rockettes and renowned Broadway choreographers. Katie and her staff avidly worked to provide dance classes to underprivileged children and children with special needs. In 2019 Precision Dance Center merged with Elevation Dance arts. Katie is happy to be a new member of the EDA staff. To date Katie has over 15 years of professional choreography experience. She has won numerous choreography awards both regionally and nationally, including a nomination for the 2016 Industry Dance Awards “People’s Choice Award”.
